The Perspectives Psychology Group consists of psychologists with a primary focus on health psychology.

This area of psychology is centred on the interplay between physical and mental health.

Our mission is to strengthen the mental health and well-being of those experiencing physical health challenges.

These challenges may include, but are not limited to:

  • A recent diagnosis of a chronic, terminal or acute medical condition (e.g., cancer; HIV/Aids; organ failure);

  • Post-operative adjustment (e.g., organ transplant; amputation);

  • Aftermath following a neurological event or condition (e.g., stroke; TBI);

  • An extended hospital stay, possibly including an admission to ICU;

  • Physical injuries as a result of traumatic events or accidents (e.g., motor vehicle accidents; sustaining burns); and

  • Peri- and post-natal health.

The services provided by Perspectives Psychology Group include both in and outpatient care, depending on the needs of the patient.

Our vision is to collaborate with medical and other allied health professionals to provide holistic care to enable patients to optimise their overall health and wellness. We strive to be the preferred providers of mental health services in the field of health psychology in Cape Town.
